Officials Endorse Sue Kay for Mayor

Sue Kay received key endorsements this week from prominent state elected officials in
her bid to become Weymouth’s next Mayor.

At a Press Conference held on Monday, October 22, along the shore of Whitman’s
Pond, State Representative James M. Murphy (Weymouth), Lieutenant Governor Tim
Murray, and Representative Joseph R. Driscoll (Braintree) endorsed her candidacy and
praised her for her work as a long time community activist and Town Councilor. Sue
also received particular praise for her job performance as Braintree’s Executive
Secretary where she oversees all government operations and a $100 Million municipal
budget.

Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray praised Sue Kay for her abilities and job
performance, and pledged his support to her as Mayor. “Sue has an excellent
reputation both personally and professionally,” said Murray. “I know what it is to be
Mayor, as I served as Mayor of Worcester prior to my election. Sue is a proven town
manager who possesses the required skills and hands on experience essential to meeting
the demands of being Weymouth’s next Mayor. She is a very talented person who
balances the demands of running a town government while always doing what is in the
best interest of residents. I can state unequivocally, Sue will be an excellent Mayor. If
given the opportunity, I look forward to working with Mayor Kay on the many issues
important to Weymouth.”

Representative James M. Murphy (Weymouth) spoke of Sue Kay from both a personal
and professional level and pledged his support for her as Mayor. “I first met Sue Kay
when I was a teenager playing soccer here in Weymouth, said Representative Murphy.
“I now have the honor of working with Sue as Weymouth’s State Representative. Sue is
the only candidate who possesses experience running a town government. She has done
an excellent job as Braintree’s Executive Secretary. We now need to bring those skills
and experience to Weymouth, where Sue can hit the ground running as our new Mayor.
I can state without hesitation that Sue possesses the necessary qualifications, relevant
work experience, and determination to lead our town in the right direction for many
years to come. I have observed Sue from both a personal and professional level. Sue
will make an excellent Mayor and I wholeheartedly endorse her candidacy.”

Representative Joseph R. Driscoll (Braintree) praised Sue for her job performance as
Braintree’s Executive Secretary. “Sue has done an excellent job running our town
government in Braintree,” said Driscoll.” “Sue’s financial skills and budget
management skills have been invaluable to our town. She has been the face of
Braintree’s government for both residents and local elected officials alike. She handles
all government matters, no matter how big or how small, with the same level of
professionalism and responsiveness. Sue’s experience in running a town government,
overseeing all town departments, and managing a municipal budget, will enable her to
be a very effective Mayor for Weymouth just has she been for our town of Braintree.
