As I am sure you know, the redesign of Legion Field has been filled with controversy. I voted against the first plan, not because I believe that nothing should be done on Legion Field but that it should reflect the needs of the entire community.

As Mayor, I would review the progress of drainage issues that have plagued the field over the past couple of decades. The plan rejected by the Council had, as an element, further design work on drainage. I would want to understand what it intended to do and if it is necessary, to proceed with that or similar work.

I believe that this would be the first step in the goal to make Legion Field usable.

However, Legion Field is one of many parks and recreation areas with which this community has been blessed. Recently, the Council accepted a capital plan that outlined a reasonable schedule for improving all our recreational facilities.

As Mayor one of the first tasks I would undertake is the review of that plan and seek Council comment and approval.
